Serato users: prepare to be awed as Pioneer launches the DDJ-SX – the world’s first native controller for the brand new Serato DJ professional software, also launched today.

The DDJ-SX has been carefully designed and developed in partnership with Serato to deliver intuitive control of the included software’s exciting features. Dedicated buttons and dials give pro-DJs plug-and-play control of Serato’s four decks, up to eight Hot Cues, six samples, and ten high-quality FX Powered by iZotope.

Pro-DJ performance is even further enhanced with the debut of Performance Pads: sixteen rubber LED pads that add a new dimension to mashing up tracks. DJs can trigger four modes: Hot Cue, Slicer, Roll and Sampler. And the new Velocity Mode lets them control the volume of samples with how hard they hit the pad.

New generation of MASCHINE now available in stores worldwide

Berlin, October 1, 2012 – Native Instruments today announced that the

new generation of its critically acclaimed groove production studio is

now available in stores worldwide and at the NI Online Shop. As of

October 1, 2012, the MASCHINE range of products have received a major

overhaul with new updates to hardware and software, the addition of

colored CUSTOM KITS and the MASCHINE STAND, and a free separate download

for MASSIVE, available to all new and existing MASCHINE users.

The new MASCHINE hardware is now available in a choice of black or

white. New backlit multicolored pads provide advanced visual

orientation, and the pads have also been updated for increased

sensitivity. Re-designed displays provide a wider viewing angle for

increased clarity, and the surface layout has been refined by exchanging

the three previously separate controls for volume, tempo and swing with

one master push-encoder and 6 new buttons. The buttons now also feature

multicolored backlighting and a new click action.

The free MASCHINE 1.8 software update introduces the new color-coding

system to the software. Sounds, groups, patterns and projects can be

assigned specific color schemes, which are reflected in the colors of

the pads and buttons on the new hardware, providing instant visual

feedback and improved workflow. Furthermore, the new software also

includes advanced offline time stretching and pitch shifting capability

as well as a range of new effects, including NI’s hugely popular dynamic

mixing effect Transient Master. Numerous workflow improvements such as

Host Transport Control, Browser Sample Preview Mode, Auto-Write Pinning

and more plus a number of new hardware shortcuts allow for faster and

even more intuitive control of the software via the MASCHINE hardware.

Another major new addition to the 1.8 update is the inclusion of NI’s

critically-acclaimed synthesizer MASSIVE – an instrument renowned for

its genre-defining bass and lead sounds. The full version of the

synthesizer is included, adding 1,300 additional sounds to the MASCHINE

library. Anyone updating to the 1.8 software will receive MASSIVE as a

separate download after software registration. Previous users of

MASCHINE will receive an email containing serial number and download link.

The more compact MASCHINE MIKRO hardware is now also available in black

or white versions, and includes the same increased-sensitivity,

multicolored pads and multicolored buttons. MASCHINE MIKRO runs on the

same software as the larger MASCHINE controller, so both existing and

new MASCHINE MIKRO owners also get the new features of the 1.8 software.

The new MASCHINE generation includes optional accessories. Owners of the

new MASCHINE can customize their hardware with a choice of CUSTOM KITS –

interchangeable faceplates and knobs in five color schemes. Applying the

new magnetic faceplate is easy and takes only a few seconds – no

additional tools are required. The MASCHINE CUSTOM KITS are compatible

with the new MASCHINE hardware, but not the first generation MASCHINE or

MASCHINE MIKRO.

The second accessory, the MASCHINE STAND, delivers an optimized viewing

angle and improved production ergonomics. Designed for both studio and

stage use, the stand has a rugged aluminum construction with a black

anodized finish. Used on a desktop, the stand provides a secure,

non-slip hold thanks to a system of rubber holding pins and rubber feet.

Particularly useful on stage, the included Mounting Adapter connects the

unit to standard snare drum stands, for neat integration into drum

Algoriddim’s awesome music-mixing app djay for iPad now features enhancements for Numark iDJ Pro controller (Instant FX, Automix, MIDI pickup mode, and more) according to its makers.

A new version of djay for iPad (1.5.2) is now out in the App Store with a ton of new features and tweaks made by Algoriddim, the developers.

The update brings “feature enhancements for Numark iDJ Pro controller (Instant FX, Automix, MIDI pickup mode, and more),” according to Algoriddim.

The Numark iDJ Pro is a premium DJ controller designed to fully integrate with djay for iPad. The hardware will be available later this month, according to www.numark.com/idjpro. 

In addition to the aforementioned Numark iDJ Pro upgrade, djay for iPad now has the ability to open recordings in other apps (e.g. in Dropbox app for upload), as well as to open audio files from other music apps.

A new song loading setting called “Protect Active Turntable” has been enabled, and there’s a new “Clear” button for the Automix queue.

Four existing features in the app have seen improvements as well. Those are scratching quality (for slow movements), compatibility and sound quality with Bluetooth audio devices, searching performance (when using full screen library) and the sliders around center mark.

Is there any need for an update in CD based technology?  The beauty of the DN-D4500 originally was its ability to give you flexibility in media sources, ease of use, and a robust build quality that would last the rigour of taking gear on the road from club, to party, to Wedding. The DN-D4500 became a celebrated product for mobile DJs who rely on a sturdy robust tool to do their job – wherever that may be! So what was there to improve?

Feedback over the last few years was always the same – add USB integration because everything else about the original DN-D4500 was already perfect. So the DN-D4500MK2 has taken the very best of what Denon, and now Denon DJ, has become known for – providing the very best DJ solutions (that last!) and made them better.

The MK2 features two USB slots for connection to USB storage devices containing digital music files. The first is located on the front of the unit for ease of access and suited for USB sticks and the second is on the rear of the CD drawer unit which is best suited for larger USB drives that can then be mounted in a flight case with the product (not included).

MixVibes is proud to announce the latest update to its powerful Cross software for DJs. Jam-packed with new, innovative features and stunning effects, CrossDJ 2.0 has been specially developed to help DJs of all levels realize maximum creative potential. In addition to offering new possibilities for enhancing mixing skills, the comprehensive update also adds new functionality for perfecting performance precision and flair.

Sampling creativity

CrossDJ 2.0 opens new doors to creativity with the addition of two 8-pad samplers. A fundamental component of modern composition and performance, this new feature enables sampled beats and clips to be incorporated in a live mix. Drop in or record a chosen sample and its BPM can automatically link to the current speed and beat grid of the player, providing all kinds of creative opportunity.

Precision

CrossDJ 2.0’s new Quantize facility means no more worries when launching samples, loops or hot cues slightly before or after the beat. With values ranging from 1/8 beat to 16 beats, the Quantize function can be applied to either a player or a sampler. When activated, rhythmic errors disappear and the audio mix will flow seamlessly.

The update also offers more precise control of CrossDJ 2.0’s 14 audio FX, with the ability to change the depth of an effect as well as the amount applied. A new Bipolar filter is also included, which can be directly accessed via a separate mixer control, meaning 2 FX’s can be used at once.

Flexibility

Featuring a new, modular “look”, CrossDJ 2.0’s interface can now be customized to suit the way DJs want to work. Hide or display different elements to view the particular tools needed for a specific mix or project – see attached for screenshot.

Locators can now serve as hot cues and be used to trigger preset loops. This professional option mimics the standard Pioneer CDJ behaviour.

Sync to Rekordbox. Developed by MixVibes, Pioneer’s Rekordbox is the industry standard digital music management software. Both MixVibes and Rekordbox use the same xml. format, so Rekordbox users can now import their complete database of music into Cross/CrossDJ, and automatically sync their cue points, hot cues, loops and beat grids.

With the new update, players and samplers are assigned by default to the crossfader but can also bypass it to directly feed the master output. CrossDJ 2.0 meanwhile continues to offer all the functionality of the previous version, including an advanced mode in its beat grid system enabling DJs to rescale, adjust downbeats and create sub-grids to deal with any track tempo fluctuations.
